A relic of the past; refurbished, restored and ready to make another appearance - the Waldan Titanium Diver has a unique place in the Waldan lineup of watches. First conceptualized in the early 1990’s, the Diver was designed and made by Oscar Waldan by commission from Neiman Marcus. They constructed a Divers watch crafted in Titanium, with the aim of creating an ultra lightweight piece; and thus Waldan’s first ever Divers watch, and first ever Quartz watch was born.
After the contract ended, Oscar found himself with a slight overrun of cases. With these cases, he produced a small batch of “Waldan” branded Divers watches, even going so far as to stamp each dial with the “Waldan” signature himself, using the left over, unprinted dials and the dial printing pad and machine he kept in his office. Each watch was individually hand assembled and cased, but never made available for sale. Now, nearly 30 years later, a limited batch of these vintage Divers were found and restored, with the objective of making these models available for sale as a vintage, collector’s novelty.
-Note: These watches are sold in vintage condition. All watches have been serviced and restored; however, they are 30 years old - each piece has recently passed a pressure test; but waterproofing cannot be guaranteed due to the aged nature of the watch. Screw down crown at 3, case back signed. Grey NATO strap with stainless steel hardware. Uni-directional rotating bezel with grey inner ring. 10 ATM water resistance.
Flat grey dial signed “Waldan”. Retro styled Arabic markers, originally tritium coated. Mercedes style luminous hands, with small red “lollipop” seconds hand. Date window at 3, “Swiss Made” stamp at 6.
Swiss Made, ETA caliber 955.612 quartz movement. 7 jewels, 11 1/12 ligne size, 4.5mm thick.
