A collector’s classic, the Waldan Astronic Chronograph is powered by a historic Zenith cal. 3019 PHF. "El Primero" movement. Credited with being the first hi-beat, automatic winding movement to feature an integrated chronograph module, this historic caliber was acquired by Oscar Waldan during the Swiss quartz crisis. After having powered early variants of this model, produced in limited collections for companies like Tiffany & Co., and Ulysse Nardin, Waldan refined his design and thus, the Astronic Chronograph was born. Approximately 2000 pieces were initially created, and less than 20 remain, making it as rare as it is exquisite.

Matte Off-White dial with applied gold Breguet style markers, gold leaf hands, red center sweep hand. Three gold trimmed and sunken subdials feature standard seconds at 9; 12-hour register and rotating moon phase at 6- and 30-minute register at 3. Two windows at 10 and 2 highlight day and month apertures. Red print track on the outer rim of the dial for Tachymeter measuring speed from 60-1000mph.
Two-piece, 39.5mm, double stepped 18ct solid rose gold case with domed sapphire crystal and 18ct solid rose gold case back. Fluted lugs, 20 mm lug width. 2 recessed correctors at 8 and 9. Jacketed pushers for chronograph at 2 and 4. Knurled crown at 3. Water resistant.
1969 Zenith "El Primero" cal. 3019 PHF self-winding movement. 31 jewels, 36,000vph/5hz. 354 components, 50-hour power reserve. Incabloc absorption system; flat self-compensating Nivarox hairspring; bi-directional ball bearing winding rotor, smooth glucydur balance. 13 ligne, 30mm diameter; 6.5mm thick.
