Waldan Power Reserve Chronometer ref. 0800 (1990’s)

Reintroducing one of the more elusive models of the Waldan collection, the Power Reserve Chronometer. A precise and reliable wristwatch named for the display of its power reserve function. This watch features a C.O.S.C “Chronometer” certified movement adjusted to five positions, within an 18K yellow or rose gold 38mm case. Only two configurations of this model were produced, one from the 1990’s period and an aesthetically upgraded 2000’s model.

The first, neo-vintage 1990’s models were made in 18K yellow and rose gold and feature an eggshell white dial with applied yellow Breguet style markers, black leaf or Breguet style hands. There is a “split” signature layout where the “Waldan International” name is positioned around the subdial at 12, and the “Chronometer” grading signature is positioned below the Power Reserve Indicator window. This features a multicolor hour indicator, going from red (0, 10), to yellow (20), to green (30, 42). Seconds are read via the track on the outer rim of the dial.

Later models from the 2000’s feature a similar 38mm case but were made exclusively in 18K rose gold with a slightly larger crown and applied rose gold applied roman style markers. The Power Reserve Indicator now sees the “window” removed and signed “Power Reserve”, with the hour grading removed as well. The Waldan International and Chronometre signatures have now been combined and placed at 3. A few rare “transitory” models exist with dials that have the same power reserve “window” as the early models but modern signature placement at 3pm. Production was estimated at 25 pieces per year and this model was discontinued in 2007.

This variation of the Power Reserve Chronometer is an earlier model from the 1990’s, as indicated by the dial layout and configuration. The eggshell white dial features rose gold Breguet style numerals, black leaf style hands and two trimmed counters. GMT indicator at 12 and day of the week at 9. Date window at 3. This 0800 has hour/minute, date, day of the week, GMT and power reserve indicator complications and comes with an original Waldan blue suede presentation box. Copies of the C.O.S.C “Chronometre” certificate can be provided on request. This watch has been professionally restored to meet warranty standards while keeping it in as original and authentic condition as possible and is warrantied for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.
