Collector’s choice chronograph with an original 1969 El Primero 3019. PHF retro movement. Available in a two piece solid 18kt yellow gold/white gold case. Features a three counter chronograph in a tri-compax layout with triple date features, tachymeter and a rotating moonphase.
The 3019. PHF movement supports a rotating moon-phase at the 6 o’clock position within the Astronic Chronograph that displays all eight phases of the moon.
The Astronic Chronograph dial has two executions. The executions are matte off-white enamel or azure blue enamel.
The dial features rose gold/white gold applied breguet markers, rose gold/white gold hands, and a rose gold/red center sweep hand. 3 sunken rose gold-trimmed subdials: standard seconds at 9 o’clock; hour register and rotating moon-phase aperture at 6 o’clock; 30-minute register at 3 o’clock. Day of week aperture at 10 o’clock; month aperture at 2 o’clock; and date aperture at 4 o’clock. In center computer second hand. Tachymetre on outer rim of dial with red marking for measuring speed from 60 miles per hour to 1000 miles per hour. Dial is contoured and signed.
The Astronic Chronograph houses an original 1969 Zenith “El Primero” 3019. PHF retro automatic winding movement, an icon in the swiss watch industry. The “El Primero” is Famous for being the first automatic winding chronograph movement ever developed in Switzerland and for being the fastest. It beats at an astounding 36,000 vph\5Hz (vibrations or beats per hour).

Two piece massive 18K solid rose/white gold case with solid gold screw-down back and contoured sapphire crystal. Two step fluted bezel. 39.5mm diameter. 2 recessed correcteurs at 8 and 10 o’clock; jacketed pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock; crown at 3 o’clock. Pushers and crown are 18K gold. Fluted lugs, 20 mm lug width. Water resistant.
The Astronic Chornograph has six complications. The complications are; full calendar (day of the week, date, month), rotating moon phase, chronograph, tachymeter that measures speed from sixty to one thousand miles per hour.
This model had a limited production of approximately 2,000 pieces in 1980 after the acquisition of the movements from Zenith Movado. Waldan revived the production of this watch in extreme limited quantities in the early 2000’s. Approximately 20 movements remain, and this watch will no longer be produced.
